Stacey Hayes

Managing Director

Stacey Hayes, 33, joined Daniel Granger Hairdressing shortly after having her youngest child and outside the salon is mad about fitness …

A salon highlight ….

Was joining the fellowship team in my second year, which meant I could get expert and advanced training in London, to help with perfecting my cutting and colouring skills. The sessions would run monthly, and each time it would be taught by a different professional in the industry. At the end, there was a huge show of all your work, and a presentation by the industry professionals. It is something that will stick with me forever, being surrounded by so many talented people and being able to share my talent with them also was incredible.

My clients inspire me …

My clients often share their stories with me. One of my regulars, who I hadn’t seen her for a while as she was undergoing cancer treatments, came to see me recently. Her hair was starting to grow back, and yet she still insisted on wearing a wig over the top. I tried my best to comfort her, and she trusted me with helping style her hair. At the end she decided to ditch the wig, she loved her new-look. It’s moments like this that inspire me and make me love my love.

Working here has played a huge part in my wellbeing …

I started at the salon not long after I had my youngest child, we were new to Northampton and I had heard of the salon and Daniel from his TV show Body Fixers. At the time, I was struggling with postnatal depression and lost a lot of confidence in myself and my abilities in hairdressing, so I didn’t think I was ready to go back to work. However, I always had in the back of my mind that if a job at this salon came up, I would have to take it. And that is exactly what happened. I was out on the school run and I saw the offer, so I thought ‘why not’ and went for it. I started part time because of the kids, but since that I have built up my time to almost full time now, with a few days with the kids for balance, because I just love it.

When I’m not working …

I love keeping fit. I go the gym at least three times a week, and have lost over 4 stone which I am super proud of. In a way, it is similar to hairdressing for me, as they both give me a sense of purpose, but also that release. You can out everything into it and you get results and I love that.

Stacey specialises in Hair Ups, Occasion and Bridal hair, and there is no better person to trust with your hair on your big day! If you’d like to book in with Stacey, please email danielgrangerhair@gmail.com or call 01604 635480.
