Meet Jade

Jade Lawri, 34, is a Senior Director at the salon, and has been working at Daniel Granger Hairdressing since 2018. Here, she talks about how hairdressing makes her feel good, and how she is training to becoming a healer …

One thing I love about the salon is …

How close we all are. One of my favourite things to do is to jump out at the other stylists, we all do it and it brings a bit of joy to the salon. Sometimes I can be a bit clumsy and knock things over, like once I sprayed our Managing Director Filip with the shower by accident. But we all laugh about it. It’s like one big family here and I always look forward to coming in. During the pandemic, I found it really frustrating not being able to come into work, as I use it as a release, I just love it. So, when we were allowed back, it was a breath of fresh air and made me appreciate it a lot more.

If I was to have one superpower, it would be …

To be a healer and to put some good back into the world. I would love to help people with their mental health and illnesses in general. I am really interested in crystal healing and tarot reading, and I am training to be a shaman, which is a type of spiritual healer.

Outside of work I am …

A huge animal lover, I have three rabbits and a cat. I spend a lot of time with them at home. And of course, Enzo is a huge part of our family here at the salon, I love him to bits.

My top hair tip is …

To reduce static, scrunch up a bit of foil around your hair and slide it down it. It gets rid of all the fly aways and makes you get really sleek and smooth hair.

My hidden talent is …

I can play the flute, ever since I was a kid, and I actually used to be in a military band. Sadly, I had to stop though as I don’t have time, I’m dedicated to hairdressing now.
